The facility treats chemically dependent consumers and also those who have a substance abuse and psychiatric diagnosis. The length of stay at JFK ADATC is variable and determined by individual need. We are part of a continuum of care that begins with the Local Management Entity/Local Provider who makes the referral to our facility. Admission is available to any adult consumer in the 37 county region regardless of financial resources or insurance status. JFK ADATC operates under the authority of the State of North Carolina through the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services.

Treatment at JFK ADATC relies on evidence-based practices that guide recovery work through motivational enhancement and building life skills. This process is designed to enhance the individual’s awareness and commitment to recovery. Mental health needs are also evaluated and treated. Our mission is to treat each individual with respect and care in a safe, supportive environment. It is our goal to help the individual feel more empowered, able and committed to continue recovery after discharge from our facility. We coordinate aftercare appointments with community agencies to facilitate the continuum of care.

The Equinox Community Services Center houses integrated non-residential services designed to assist individuals and families who fall through the cracks in the traditional service system. Equinox offers a full continuum of services from outreach and prevention through crisis intervention, treatment, follow-up, and finally, reintegration into the community.

Thirty women at the Crossroads community based program are provided with apartments for themselves and their children. Another twelve women reside in a nurturing group setting called Maya’s Place. Wrap around support services include intensive case management, therapeutic day program, counseling, parenting assistance, vocational services, and healthy community activities.

The program is succesful in helping women create safe, secure, and drug free lifestyles for themselves and their children and futures of economic self-sufficiency.

As substance abuse continues to be a health concern for the nation and an increasing problem in Nevada, New Frontier continues to address and meet the need for additional treatment services. It is our priority to incorporate best practices, and to offer research-based, effective drug, alcohol and gambling addiction treatment to Nevadans of all ages. New Frontier accepts donations and contributions, both financial and material.
